The struggle is real

It has been awhile since I have poured my heart out on the blog. Exhaustion has taken over and greatly effecting our emotions.
Harrison has struggled with nightmares for the past 4-6 weeks. I thought it would go away after Halloween (I remember last year around Halloween was a bit difficult). This does not compare. Harrison was staying up past 9pm in his bed, afraid to go to sleep. He then wakes up in the middle of the night and crawls into bed with Bill and I. We just want to sleep! We tried the cot next to my bed, nope that was a no go. Thankful for my momma's suggestion to see if the doctor has any suggestions. Since last Wednesday I have been doing the same routine and then sitting in the rocking chair until Harrison falls asleep. Woohoo for no more late nights. Reading is done at 7:45pm and asleep by 8:30pm. This will help him to build confidence that he is safe to fall asleep.

Next phase is to have Harrison build confidence in going back to sleep. Slow progress...I have been taking Harrison back to bed and waiting for him to fall back to sleep. This requires me to do several times each will not last will get better.

For now I would love prayers:

Harrison to build his confidence sooner then later on being able to go back to sleep on his own

Kids at school to stop saying monsters come out at 3am

Our kittens, Cookie and Shortbread, would stay away from coming upstairs into the bedroom as soon as the door is cracked open (this is a new thing that started Thursday night)

God is so good, God is so good!
