Thanksgiving 2013

Happy Thanksgiving! Harrison really liked his craft=turkey hat from Nana

A beautiful morning at Botanical Gardens with friends, they guys to the left were filming a show and found the kids to be quite entertaining

Get ready to go find turkey prints! Thank you so much Laura for inviting us all to gather for a morning of fun. First the kids ran around trying to find the "hidden" turkey prints and then a very small race before prizes where given. It was so much fun and a wonderful way to start the day!

Why not have a cow all tied up at the Botanical Gardens!

Some of our new friends in India! From the left is Stan and Carol from Amazon and their daughter Kate to the right. Kate has been cooking for us at least once a week since we moved here. They will be moving back to Seattle in a couple weeks, we will miss them but will look forward to a reunion in Seattle in a couple years. Stella (Ethan's momma) is next to Kate then Bambi and her husband Srini. Bambi is my exercise partner and lives in our complex.

Why not have band playing in the street as we walk/dance to the wedding hall.
And a man carrying lanterns on his head….

This picture was taken right before the heavy rain began. Harrison was a trooper and very fascinated with the band, dancing and fire crackers. They rain did not bother him at all

While Harrison was at school today (Friday) Bill and I attended the welcoming of the bride into the grooms home, they will be living with his mother and father. The traditional wedding gift for the bride is jewelry.

Sunshine, pirate ship and turkey

Harrison requested an umbrella to "keep the sun out of my eyes" after I started a load of laundry. He then decided the washing machine needed to be protected from the sun. (Umbrella was Daddy's when he was a boy.)

Harrison received some pirate tattoos from his best friend William...oh how he loves pirate ships!

This momma is so excited to "hide" these turkey's tomorrow morning at the botanical garden for Thanksgiving turkey trout!!! I will be sure to take pictures.

Last week I was in a bad funk with missing family and friends as Thanksgiving approached. For the past three years we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Bernardi family and other dear friends in Seattle.

Thanksgiving in India will be different but wonderful. After the turkey trout we will go pick up our cooked turkey and stuffing from a local hotel and come home to a Thanksgiving lunch with some new friends before going to a wedding in the evening. God is great, all the time!

Playground fun

All set for the playground!

Nothing can get in the way of this boy and a slide!

                                                              Must inspect the duck…

These two kids were pretty excited to have their picture taken! They spoke very little English but quite cute.

Just hanging out in his chair (I brought the highchair top out of storage since we have a couple friends with babies)…Harrison wanted to check it out again.

Garden and haircut

Harrison and I took a walk on Friday afternoon to the garden area of our apartment complex. Harrison spotted a Bamboo tree...he pointed with extreme excitement and said "Bamboo!! That's my favorite branch!!!!"
I truly love looking into the world through his eyes.

On Sunday afternoon we decided to try out the barber shop in our Clubhouse. Harrison's first India big boy haircut in a real barber chair was a success! Bill and I were very pleased with Harrison's (and Bill's) haircut…and it was $6 for BOTH haircuts! The barber spoke very little English but did a great job!

End of October

Harrison helping Mommy with cutting carrots for dinner….using his special knife from Nana last Christmas

Bubbles! My friend Gee said once all the toys were put away they (Harrison and friends Nathan and Ethan) could have "special inside" bubbles!  What a smart idea!

Our little Thomas the Train….He loved being dressed in his costume this year!

A great night at Hyatt Gachibowli for kids! Not too much candy but a TON of fun!

The highlight of dinner…a cracker shaped like a bat! After observing the other kids running around, Harrison decided to join in the fun!  He was pretty fascinated with all the decorations too.
